viro is the number-one address for high-grade forgings and hot-pressed parts. Our hallmarks are exceptional precision, flexibility and the huge range of industries for which we produce forged or machined parts. We have produced virtually every conceivable forging geometry to date. viro stands for: Diversity. Made in Germany.
A one-stop shop for pinpoint accuracy
We process a wide range of forgeable brass, copper and aluminium alloys. We offer RoHS- and REACH-compliant alloys, as well as meeting the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive and much more. Talk to us. Our approach is not just based on implementation, but also on providing support throughout the entire process. This includes the meticulous planning and design of the forgings using a comprehensive forming simulation (CAD-CAM-CNC workflow), selection of the right alloy and flexible high-quality production.
Whether mini-series or millions of pieces – viro applies its extensive know-how to deliver the most cost-effective solution: a one-stop shop for pinpoint accuracy.
From the Black Forest to the world – viro hot-pressed parts
Our home is Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest, where precision is a tradition. In contrast, our customers are globally active in a wide variety of industries from measurement and control technology to medical technology, from electrical engineering to automotive, and from mechanical engineering to aviation and e-mobility applications. Whether a high-tech brake for e-bikes, an intricate joint implant in medical technology or power connectors for electric cars – viro provides the perfect product, setting the benchmark for precision and quality.
We are driven by perfection – the last micrometre, the perfectly forged shape, high-quality blank surfaces. viro provides the ideal finishing touch.
From regional precision to global high-tech
The viro story began in Villingen-Schwenningen in 1982: Jürgen Winter, a young engineer with experience in the industry, established viro Schmiedeteile GmbH together with his wife Dorothea. The start-up rapidly evolved into the number-one address for forgings and hot-pressed parts. The recipe for success? A high level of personal commitment, a spirit of innovation and a passion for perfection. A typical engineering entrepreneur.
Today, over 70 smart minds work in state-of-the-art production facilities covering an area of over 5,000 m² to create high-precision hot-pressed parts. Our state-of-the-art machines include CAD-CAM systems, CNC rotary transfer machines, double spindlers, automated spindle presses, and high-performance machining and turning centres. Fully automated. With high precision. Our stock of raw materials includes all standard forgeable alloys. And second-generation family member Silke Winter has been at the helm of viro since 2016.
Viro is forging the future
With new, innovative planning and construction methods, a highly skilled team, and automated manufacturing, viro produces perfect forgings with an ever-increasing degree of production automation. Though this approach, we guarantee the consistently high quality of our products and optimal cost structures.
Here at viro, we maintain our technological lead through a systematic programme of training and development. After all, our most important resource is know-how. The viro team is made up of experienced experts and highly trained specialists from various fields, countries and cultures. Here too, our approach is based on diversity.
