As an owner-managed family business, sustainability is a key concern for us. We think long term – in generations rather than in quarters. Our way of working is based on continuity, staying power and the conscious, optimised use of resources. Or, as the lady at the helm, Silke Winter, puts it: “For us, sustainability is an aspect of cost-effectiveness. The economical, sensible use of time, labour and material is the key maxim at viro.”
Responsibility for energy and resources
We put our words into action – viro aluminium, brass and copper forgings are 100% recyclable. Forging and hot pressing is an energy-intensive process, so it is in our own interest to use energy and resources efficiently.
What’s more, those who, like us, live in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes appreciate the value of nature and the environment – and are happy to take responsibility for this. Our comprehensive programme for the continuous improvement of processes and structures also takes account of aspects such as the climate and the use of energy and resources.
All hot-pressed parts VIRO makes out of brass, aluminium and copper bars are completely recyclable.
That way, we can easily meet the automotive industry’s future requirement of ensuring 95% recyclability of all vehicle parts.
Quality and farsightedness are the prerequisites for sustainability. Optimised material usage is the substantive benefit of this technology and conserves resources on the long term.
